Patrick Orson

I am a Visiting Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn.

I work on questions related to low-dimensional topology. I am particularly interested in knot theory, knot concordance, and the topology of 4-manifolds.

More about me

I completed a BA and MMath (Part III) at University of Cambridge. I received my PhD from the University of Edinburgh as a student of Andrew Ranicki.

I have previously held positions at Durham University, the CIRGET lab at the Université du Québec à Montréal, and at ETH Zürich.

From 2017-2020, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College.
